It’s true that it’s an honor just to be nominated.

But sometimes it’s more fun to declare victory.

The Library Society of the World would like to congratulate Library Journal’s “Movers and Shakers” for 2009, a list that includes a healthy number of active LSW members and sympathizers.

A week from today, we will have Shovers and Makers to congratulate, too.

Next week, Library Journal will name a few dozen librarians as “Movers and Shakers.”

There are about seven hundred thousand librarians worldwide.

Shovers and Makers: an award for the rest of us.
