Tom Boone
My name is Tom Boone, and I’m a reference librarian at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to arriving in Los Angeles, I spent 15 months as Reference Librarian for Electronic Services at Yale Law School and 3 years as Head of Information and Electronic Services at UNLV School of Law.
In recent years, I’ve been heavily involved in bringing the social web to academic law libraries through IM/SMS reference service, Twitter, blogging, Facebook, RSS mashups, etc. I worked as a facilitator in last year’s Web 2.0 Challenge and am tentatively slated to be the webmaster for this year’s course.
I also develop library-related websites (usually using Drupal), including my latest creation: ScheduAALL 2009, a personal conference scheduling application for attendees of the 2009 AALL Annual Meeting.
You can find me in about a gazillion places on the web, but I tend to hang out most on Twitter and my blog.
