Sian – I’m all shook up – You like me, you really like me.
(I have never been an S&M winner before. I’ll need to watch how I put this on my resume. )
Coworkers probably think I shoved my way to Technical Services Manager at a 3-branch system in Texas, but really I worked hard for it! I like to think I’m catching my library “up-to-date”.
In the past year, I have helped implement a lot of 2.0 technologies, even to some of our 30-year veterans in the system. We’re starting new ILL software, incorporating text reference, and are the first library around here to offer downloadable content. A mobile catalog, implementation of wireless in all buidlings, installation of a new server for the ILS, and installation of SmartBoards with laptops in our meeting rooms has happened too!
Favorite parts of job: new technologies, working with IT, statistics
Least favorite parts: meeting with vendors, handling complaints about materials (What? You think Sherlock Holmes should be banned?), and budget

Probably should have put my whole name…Sian Brannon.
Or maybe it’s better I didn’t.
It’s there now!
