Lynne M. Thomas, Pop Culture Confessional Curator 2.0

Lynne M. Thomas is the Head of Rare Books and Special Collections at Northern Illinois University, where she is responsible for a large and growing collection of popular culture materials, including dime novels, SF literature and archives, and comic books, along with a significant collection of historical children’s literature.

She has been maintaining a blog, Confessions of a Curator, for over a year, and is the co-author with Beth Whittaker of Ohio State University of a forthcoming book Special Collections 2.0, out this fall from Libraries Unlimited, which discusses using 2.0 tools in a special collections setting, and the implications of web 2.0 on future special collections work.

In her spare time, she is an avid fan of Doctor Who and Torchwood, and is the co-editor with Tara O’Shea of a forthcoming volume of essays about women in these fandoms, Chicks Dig Time Lords, through the Mad Norwegian Press this fall..
