Lauren Pressley

I’m Lauren Pressley and I am the Instructional Design Librarian at Wake Forest University’s Z. Smith Reynolds Library. I get to do a lot of cool things in my job including teaching a credit course on the information environment, teaching a class for librarians on teaching strategies, giving monthly emerging tech talks, creating new tools and resources (forthcoming), and working with other interesting groups on campus like the strategic planning committee for IT innovation, the teaching and learning center, the philosophy department, and women’s and gender studies.
I’ve been Shoving for some time, shoving information that is. I am all about sharing whatever I can find, through blogging, twittering, photos, videos, classes, presentations, and publications. This year I’m particularly proud that I’ll have a book coming out this summer, around the same time I’m finishing up my second one. And I’m all about Making: making the future of libraries a bright one. I work on this as much as I can through committees on campus, publishing and writing, and through our professional organizations. And I do the making with all of you. This is what makes me a Shover and Maker. Thanks for letting me be part of the club. :)

Thanks Rebecca! I’m following you back! & Fiona, thank you, too! For what it’s worth, I think the first one is the hardest. ;)
