Laura Crossett, Shoving Gently

I’m Laura Crossett and I live in a tiny town in northwestern Wyoming where I am the manager of both an actual and a virtual branch library. I’m probably best known online for the website I built for $16 in chocolate and for my blog, lis.dom.
What makes me a Shover and Maker, though, is that I’ve been trying to share the skills that I have. There are now five people in my library system who can — and do — add content to the library website. Recently, a whole bunch of librarians around the state participated in Get on the Bus: Join the Online Social Library Community. I taught the section on blogs, and now there are a bunch of newly minted Wyoming library bloggers out there. I hope to find a few of them here!
I’m a librarian, and that means, among other things, that I’m happiest not when I know things but when I can share them — even when that sharing involves perhaps just the tiniest bit of shoving.
