Betsy Vera
I’m Betsy Vera, a librarian at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, Illinois. These days, my time is evenly divided between Adult Services, where I’m mostly at the reference desk, and Technical Services, where I catalog Spanish books and DVDs. I also teach some of the Internet classes (in English and Spanish). Before I was split in two, I was in charge of adult programming and volunteers.
Outside of work, I compiled the weekly This Week in LibraryBlogLand on LISNews.com for a couple of years but I gave it up so I could get my weekends back. Lately, my librarian hangout is Friendfeed and I’m still getting used to Facebook.
