I am currently the Researcher in Distance Education for the Internet Public Library. I set up courses for IPL projects; support students and faculty on IPL-related coursework and projects; assist in reviewing new students’ and volunteers’ practice reference questions, IPL collection development and reference work, and training resources for IPL students and staff; monitor and provide assistance for the IPL Learning Community site; and assist with IPL distance education activities.
I have been accepted into the Doctor of Professional Studies in Information Management program at the Syracuse University School of Information Studies, for matriculation in the fall 2009 semester.
I have an MS LIS from Drexel University. I am active in a number of associations, including ALA, ALISE, ASIS&T and SLA. I am the PR Chair for UNYSLA.

What Alison didn’t say is that she is full of energy and passionate about libraries. She’s anxiously looking for ways to attract more people to libraries. And she is looking forward to do research as part of the professional doctorate program. She’s definitely a Shover & Maker!
